Hex is a small social raiding guild on the European Nagrand server. We are a guild for adult players who enjoy the social qualities of a multiplayer game while still wanting to play the game seriously and experience high-end PvE content. Our current goal is to fully complete the timed event of Zul'Aman before the Wrath of the Lich King is released.

In order to fulfill our vision we emphasize time management, team-work and personal responsibility. Our members are expected to be humble social people with a professional attitude when it comes to raiding.

In short we’re aiming to keep a good balance between real life obligations, friendship and progressive raiding.

If you're interested in joining us, please make sure to read through our guild ethos thoroughly to make sure this is the guild for you before applying.

With a new content patch that will turn the whole game on its head in the making and new threats of Northrend looming over the horizon Hex saw it fit to arrange a little get-together for Hexians and friends to say farewell to progressive TBC raiding together.

A 22 man strong raid force composed of all the members of Hex and 7 invited friends met up at Blade's Edge Mountain to tackle the 25-man instances of the tier 4 content and become Champions of the Naaru in the process.

After mandatory confusion around who should recieve which Blesssing we buckled up to take on High King Maulgar and his minions. With mages, locks and hunters assigned in their unfamiliar tanking roles we engaged combat. Initial confusion assured but everyone stayed calm and focused, and bar the few unfortunate deaths the orge king and his sidekicks provided a bit-sized challenge and fell on the first attempt.

We pressed on to the main course of this raid instance, Gruul the Dragonkiller. After going through the basic tactics and refreshing our buffs we charged in... a bit too quick it would seem as 6 raid members were still outside the gate to the lair as we engaged in combat.

With only 16 members, of which most completely new to the fight, we assumed the fight was lost beforfe it begun but none the less we gave it our best shot. To our suprise everyone quickly adapted to the dangers of the Gronn Lord's Grasp and before we know it he was dead.

We dusted ourselves off, looted the gronn and headed off to the Hellfire Citadel to vanquish a larger threat. Magtheridon, corruptor of orcs and nemesis of cube-clickers.

Magtheridon proved a bigger challenge than the dragonkiller. Not so much due to heavy DPS requirements or damage output but rather due to the coordination required to deal with the initial channelers and the subsequent cube-clicking. It took us a few tries to get the timing right within team cube-click but once everything clicked (har har ) all adds were dead long before Magtheridon broke free of his prison and every Blast Nova was promptly interrupted. The kill that assured was smooth like a baby bum.

All in all it was an evening defined by new encounters to master, coordination on a larger scale and most of all, fun and laughs among friends.

On behalf of Hex I would like to thank Grimtooth, Keryon, Exidust, Nazhor, Angar, Monmay and Laödice for their great help in making this happen. A special thank you also goes out for Shechan who offered her help but eventually couldn't join the raid due to connection issues

A suiting farwell party to Outland it was. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did and I will no doubt see you all in the cold-bitten lands of Northrend.

It's big, cuddly, likes blueberries and smells of wet fur. Could it be? Could it be?

You're damn right it is, and his name is Humphrey.

On the evening of the 28th of August Hex finally beat the timed event of Zul'Aman. By doing so we have fulfilled our goal to complete all ten-man content of the Burning Crusade, and this without a single piece of 25-man gear. It's been a journey with peaks and valleys but always in good humour with wonderful company.

Proud owner of our first Amani War Bear is Felsen. The happy adoptive father named the cub Humphrey Beargart, a suiting name for the steed of a mighty warrior...
From now on we will aim to provide all of our guild members with bears. A dozen of war bears thundering across the tundra of Northrend will be a sight to behold, and we don't want Humphrey to be lonely.

During the raid at the 3rd of August Hex broke through the third chest blockade that has been hampering our Zul'Aman raids for a while. Finally things clicked and with a full run of just around 50 minutes we didn't just complete the third part of the timed event with a comfortable margin but we got mere minutes from completing the fourth and final part in our quest for Amani war bears.
Exciting, exciting.

Witness to our feat was the (normally burning) third hostage, Kraz the ungrateful, who gave us this lousy ring for the effort.

Oh well, now we just need to make some final tweaks to our tactics and perfect the execution. Hopefully it won't take too long before we can proudly call ourselves Amani bear riders.

It's been two month's since we embarked on our journey. Hungry for adventure in the company of friends Hex set out on a quest, a quest to tackle new challenges in Azeroth without losing sight of our reason to play in the first place. We set out with a humble ambition, an ambition to clear all small-scale raid content on offer before setting off for unexplored lands in Northrend.

The ruins of the once mighty Amani empire was our destination and the newfound chieftain of the Amani tribe, Zul'jin, our nemesis. The raid of yesterday evening saw Hex fulfilling this goal, declaring ourselves conquerors of the Amani.

The wasted-out sun was just about to set over the mist covered lands of the Blackened Woods as the group known as Hex assembled at the base camp in the Amani pass. Draped in rugged leather pelts decorated by voodoo skulls, severed troll tusks and dark talismans mistaking this rag-tag band of adventurers for savage Amani warriors would have been understandable. This could, however, not be further from the truth. The ensemble in the pass was made up of champions of the Horde, and the Amani's worst nightmare.

Hex had already visited the ruins the evening before, an evening of battle and blood as all minions of the warchief were defeated. As we returned to the stage of the battle a foreboding silence hung in the air. There was one bitter old troll left waiting for us, Zul'jin.

At the altar at the heart of the ruins we met our nemesis. The eyes of Zul'jin burned with a desperate anger. Deep inside he knew his time was long past but like a cornered animal he clutched onto what little he had left, plunging himself into dark magic and relentless anger. His animalistic fury and brute force initially scattered the forces of Hex. It was clear to us why Doomhammer had put such trust in Zul'jin during the Second War.

But those times were long gone and the derailed chieftain had become a threat to the whole Horde. There was no time to dwell on the past, there was a task at hand.
Hex regrouped after the initial setback and focused their efforts on what must be done. Bit by bit we mastered his phases as he drew powers from one animal avatar after the other. After a highly irritating 1% wipe, Zul'jin was defeated by the might of our combined forces.

Zul'jin has fallen, and with the threat of the Amani neutralized Hex has fulfilled the task they initially set out to do. With bittersweet feelings it's time for Hex to set new goals to aim for. Our initial focus will no doubt be to truly master the encounters of Zul'Aman and our chief goal before we set sail for Northrend will be to complete the timed event of Zul'Aman and aquire the alluring Amani War Bears.

One thing is in either case certain, our efforts will not stop here. Hex will keep looking for new challenges, all while safeguarding the atmosphere which makes us enjoy these adventures so much.

After a few weeks of struggling to get a full raid together free of disconnects and other external obstacles the last few days saw Hex plan not one, but two progression raids within the same instance reset. It was time for our journey into the old ruins of the Amani to continue.
Into uncharted lands...

During the Sunday's adventures we cleared out the avatars in a timely fashion, just a minute shy of meeting the requirement for saving the third hostage but when pitched against the mastermind behind the wicked avatars of the Amani we hit a brick wall. This old voodoo master, this pawn of Zul'jin that dares to call himself the Hex lord proved a formidable foe and after an evening of unsuccessful bouts we had to admit defeat.

Fuelled by our last unsuccessful encounter we returned collected, determined to finish what we started. It was time to bind the dark voodoo magic and bring down this so-called lord of Hex, it was time to reclaim our freedom!

In a pattern that is becoming increasingly familiar to us, the previous evening's repeated defeats paid off. After one initial try to get us back into the fight we were in control of his trickery and on the second attempt he bit the dust.

And there was much rejoicing.

Hex was euphoric, but the night was young. All of our attention and preparations had been focused on mastering Malacrass but with such an early victory we simply had to press on. Deeper into the ruins, towards the source of the malice. Our attention shifted to leader of the Amani, Zul'jin himself.

Our ever enthusiastic gatekeeper Whopper happily went ahead and unlocked the heavy door at the back of Malacrass' chamber, unknowing of the surprise the sly chieftain had in store for us. Legions of troll warriors swarmed our poor druid but as of a miracle Aegnor managed to get the forces under control and everyone survived the attack. The tone was set, we were not welcome and this old troll was going to make it painfully obvious.

With fairly limited preparation and five phases to master we had to rely on our wit and improvise. We approached the encounter phase by phase and while we saw drastic improvement Zul'jin had time on his side. During our final attempt before we had to call it a night we brought him down to 26%, not bad for an unprepared raid.

Just you wait Zul'jin, we be comin' for ya!

An ivory tower shrouded by mystery. The final residence of Medivh, last Guardian of Tirisfal. Now home for ghostly presences, demonic invaders and shiny purplies.

Karzahan is a place we know well from earlier excursions under different circumstances but tonight was the first time we entered the place under the Hex tag without any guests tagging along for the ride.

Nine members, of which two fulfilling a role different from what they normally do, attended the evening's event. An event that, after a few initial suprise ready-checks by yours truly, went as smooth as ever. Tonks were driven, bosses were killed, screenshots were taken and purplies were to be had.
A special congratulation to Whopper who, long being deprived of a suiting healing weapon, recieved not one but two new maces. Is dual-wielding for druids too much to ask for?

Hex has now "officially" cleared out Karazhan. We will still come back for badges and the few upgrades still present in the tower but our focus is, and will stay, at a threat bigger than these restless ghost. The fortress of the savage Amani tribe.

After a week plagued by unstable connections, massive hail storms and spontaneously combusting computers the 8th of June saw Hex heading back into the ruins of the Amani tribe. A force of nine, including new recruit Scarlok, started off the evening's excursion by revisiting the altar of Nalorakk and Akil'zon. Our goal this time around was to complete not just the first but also the second part of the timed event. And indeed, after the eagle avatar hit the ground in a cloud of feathers, two relieved prisoners thanked us for freeing them from the grasp of the Amani. We picked up our rewards and headed on towards our nemesis from our previous adventure, Jan'alai.

On our way to the dragonhawk avatar our resident warlock Wuksus showed up and rounded off the raid. After a failed first attempt to get everyone up to date with the fight we collected new strength and headed back into the fry, crying out for our favourite rogue with a broken computer. This time everything went according to plan. Dragonhawks were obliterated, bombs were avoided and it wasn't long until the troll bit the dust.

High on the thrill of this new accomplishment Hex quickly decided that this night's raid wouldn't end here. It was time to go and take a look at our next target, the lynx avatar Halazzi.

An aura of ill intent grew thicker as we cut our way through the ever more lush vegetation. The pine trees slowly gave way to a thick jungle and it seemed as if a pack of trolls and savage beast were lurking behind every turn.

As we reached Halazzi's chamber a less than friendly welcome ceremony was awaiting our arrival. The avatar glared at us from his temple but there was no way back. As we engaged our foe the thick gates closed behind and minor chaos ensured as we desperately tried to get to grips with the encounter.

Recollecting ourselves from the initial defeat we headed back in for a second try. This time everyone was aware of the mechanics of the fight and we soon realized that the rumours surrounding the strength of this warlord were somewhat... exaggerated. On our second attempt the avatar fell without too much trouble.

Having completed the second part of the timed event undermanned and defeated two new foes we were more than happy with the result of the excursion and we decided to call it a night. Next time we head back into the stronghold of the Amani we should be able to see what Hex Lord Malacrass has to offer.

The air was thick and the stench of dark magic heavy when the brave adventurers of Hex ventured into the ruins of Zul'Aman for their first guild-only raid. Resident tree druid Whopper convinced his friend Harrison Jones to help us enter the place and as the gong rang and the heavy gates of Zul'Aman swung open the savage residents of the ruins greeted us with a less than warm welcome.

Their ambush (which led to the tragic demise of our dear companion Harrison Jones) did however not deter us the slightest and with swiftness and determination we cut our way through the trolls and bears towards the first leader of the Amani.

The bear avatar Nalorakk awaited us on his platform. Perhaps suprised by our onslaught, he was lying dead at our feet before he realized it. With four minutes to spare before the troll's first sacrifice we recieved the warm gratetude of the first prisoner.

We continued through the old ruins and made our way up to the second leader of the Amani, the eagle avatar Akil'zon. The cunning troll put up a good fight, but once everyone had adjusted to deal with his electric storm from the first attempt we brought it down on our second taking.

As we ventured deeper into the ancient troll temple we met our match in the dragonhawk avatar, Jan'alai, who unfortunately managed to halt our adventures for now. With a final attempt bringing him down to 16% health there is no doubt we will defeat him next time we enter the ruins, and we will add his dragonhawk head to our trophy collection.
